beehiiv Price Increase Nov 1, 2026: Old vs New Cost for Existing Users

Existing beehiiv customers move to the new prices at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026. On monthly billing, Scale (now Lite) goes up $10 to $30 a month between 1,000 and 25,000 subscribers: $109 becomes $139 at 10,000. Max (now Pro) stays the same up to 2,500 and rises $20 to $60 above that. If you use beehiiv's ad network, paid subscriptions or website, staying usually makes sense. If you only send emails, Moosend ($88 at 10,000) or systeme.io ($47 at 10,000) cost less. Prices checked October 21, 2026.

beehiiv raised its prices for new customers on October 1, 2026. Existing customers move to the new prices at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.

The plans also got new names. Launch is now Free. Scale is now Lite. Max is now Pro. Enterprise stays Enterprise.

This guide shows what that means in dollars at five list sizes. Then it compares the new beehiiv prices with Moosend and systeme.io at the same sizes.

What is changing, and when

These rules come from beehiiv's announcement, dated October 1, 2026:

New customers have paid the new prices since October 1, 2026.
Existing customers keep their price until their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.
Monthly customers get at least 30 days' notice before the first bill at the new price.
Annual customers keep their current price until the current annual term ends. The plan then moves over automatically.
Discounts carry over to the new plan. A new offer later, such as a Black Friday deal, replaces the old discount. Discounts can't be combined.
Some accounts were moved to a higher subscriber tier. beehiiv says some accounts had grown past the tier they were billed for. The new tier is billed from the first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.

The free plan does not change in price. It still covers up to 2,500 subscribers with unlimited sends.

beehiiv also says it still takes 0% of paid subscription revenue. Stripe's fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction still applies.

Old vs new beehiiv price by list size

Old prices come from the Scale and Max chart in beehiiv's official pricing FAQ. New prices come from beehiiv's pricing page. Both are monthly billing.

USD per month, monthly billing, checked October 21, 2026. The FAQ chart doesn't label its billing period. Its 1,000-subscriber figures ($49 and $109) match the old monthly prices, so we treat the chart as monthly. Your bill may differ if you have a discount or joined on an older plan.

At 10,000 subscribers, Lite costs $360 more a year than Scale did on monthly billing ($1,668 vs $1,308).

Annual billing closes most of the gap on Lite

beehiiv's new annual prices for Lite are lower than its monthly prices. At three of our five sizes, they match the old monthly Scale price.

So a monthly Scale user who moves to annual Lite pays the same as before at 1,000, 2,500 and 25,000 subscribers. At 5,000 the annual price is $6 a month more. At 10,000 it is $10 more.

One thing we could not confirm. beehiiv's announcement doesn't say whether switching from monthly to annual before November 1 keeps your old price for a year. Ask beehiiv support before you count on that.

All three include unlimited email sends on these plans. Moosend and systeme.io count contacts. beehiiv counts subscribers. Check how each tool counts unsubscribed or inactive people before you compare your own list.

On annual billing, the numbers shift a little:

beehiiv Lite: $49, $69, $95, $119 and $169 a month at the five sizes.
Moosend Pro: $13, $26, $38, $70 and $128 a month (Moosend says annual saves 20%).
systeme.io: the pricing page advertises "2 months free" on annual billing. We did not confirm the exact annual amounts, so they are not in this table.

What you give up if you leave beehiiv

The price gap is real. So is the feature gap.

beehiiv is built for publishing. Its paid plans include the ad network, paid subscriptions at a 0% take rate, paid recommendations, a newsletter website and podcast hosting. Ad network and recommendations are not available in every region, per beehiiv's pricing page.

Moosend is a general email marketing tool. Its Pro plan includes unlimited sends, automation workflows, landing pages, subscription forms and an SMTP server. Its pricing page doesn't list an ad network, a recommendation network or paid newsletter subscriptions. More in our Moosend review.

If ads or recommendations pay part of your beehiiv bill, put that income into the math. A cheaper tool that removes that income may not save you money.

Who should stay on beehiiv

You earn from beehiiv. If the ad network, paid recommendations or paid subscriptions cover a good part of your bill, the higher price is easier to carry. No other tool here offers those.
You are on Pro (Max) with 2,500 subscribers or fewer. Your monthly price doesn't change.
You have 2,500 subscribers or fewer and don't use paid features. You may not need a paid plan at all. beehiiv Free covers up to 2,500 subscribers with unlimited sends. It does not include automations, paid subscriptions or the ad network. See beehiiv free plan explained.

What to do before your renewal

Check your renewal date in beehiiv's billing settings. That is when the new price starts.
Check your subscriber tier. beehiiv moved some accounts up a tier. Removing inactive subscribers may move you back down, beehiiv says.
Price annual billing. It is the cheapest way to stay on beehiiv.
Add up what beehiiv pays you. Ads, recommendations and paid subscriptions all count.
If you plan to leave, start before the renewal. Export your subscribers, set up your sending domain in the new tool, and rebuild forms and automations. They don't move on their own.
